Top quality compost
Friends of the Wairarapa Community Gardens sell top quality compost for only $5 for a large sackful outside 20 Main St, Greytown. This enables our unpaid volunteers to do our important work in the community. Recently we've had around $80 worth of compost taken without payment, which is very disappointing. If you took some compost recently and forgot to pay for it, or didn't have the correct change, please pop the money into the little red bucket, which is there for the purpose and very visible, next time you're going past. We've seen some of the people responsible for taking bags without paying, two of them appeared to be very respectable looking people. The area is under surveillance, and future offenders run the risk of being named and shamed. Thank you to all our customers who DO pay for their compost, your honestly is very much appreciated.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
