Step up, get active and support vulnerable people this winter with Red Cross Journey
Launched last year, Red Cross Journey is our annual fundraising step-challenge with a difference - you also get to learn about a real-life journey of someone involved with Red Cross. Join Brad and follow the journey of a Red Cross member volunteering in their community or a former refugee now living in New Zealand, while fundraising for us.
Choose the journey you want to follow and set your own challenge, including your distance and your fundraising target. Whether it’s 5,000 (approx. 4kms) or 10,000 (approx. 8kms) steps a day, whatever distance you choose make it a challenge for you and feel the added benefits of moving more and getting outside during the cooler months.
For those less able to walk or run, we also have other options for participating - get in touch to find out how Red Cross Journey can be adapted for you.
The more distance you cover, the more you’ll learn about the journey you have chosen to follow, through regular video updates.

What's your favourite tomato recipe?
Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.
