Shirley Boys and Avonside Girls are zoning us out :( :(

Vanessa from Avonside - Dallington

Kia ora. I think all Dallington, Avonside and Shirley residents should know that the new proposed Shirley Boys and Avonside Girls zones have been released and they do not include us. This means our kids would be directed to Haeata as the nearest high school. Personally, I don't think our kids should lose any more opportunities than they already have because of the quakes. In addition, this will hit our house values very hard. Not being zoned for a high school takes around $15000 off your house value in Christchurch. Areas in the proposed new zone are already seeing a house price increase and we can anticipate a similar decrease in our vales. To submit on this proposal, go here:

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
