For adults and adolescents living with mental health problems, every day is a struggle. Relating to the outside world feels like an insurmountable challenge and treatment seems never-ending. When mental and behavioural health problems compromise basic functioning, patients arrive at a crossroads: reach out for support and treatment, or continue as things are. With over 28 years experience as a Psychiatrist, Dr Mendel has treated hundreds of clients, successfully guiding them towards the functional, meaningful life they hope to achieve.

Dr Mendel offers a service giving assessment and treatment for a variety of psychological problems including depression, anxiety, occupational stress, psychological trauma and sleep disorders.

For some patients with depression who have not responded, cannot tolerate medication, or prefer a medication-free treatment, we offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) - a non-invasive and effective treatment for depression. We are proud to be the first to make this treatment available in New Zealand.
