The lure of increased income from sites like Airbnb may be contributing to the lack of rentals, with one couple boosting their income from $290 a week to $1000 a week by taking their property off the market and joining Airbnb.
Restricting the number of nights, a property can be listed on short-term rental sites could be what's needed to reduce the rental squeeze in some regions.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
