Burglaries

Arthur from Rangiora

Re the number of unwanted people entering a property / house. I do sympathise with those who have had this happen to them and have been robbed of their possessions. BUT, I notice a very large percentage of properties have very high fences all around them for privacy. This is ideal for criminals as they are free from view in all directions to do your house / property over without being seen or disturbed. Think about it. Also a property surrounded by high plant growth/ hedges etc. The corner shops / dairies are the same with the windows fully covered with posters / advertising or painted over. There are very few people who will stand and just look at a property unless they are admiring a great garden presentation. If you feel the need to be fully hidden from view then have a top quality security system / cameras installed and photograph all your valuable possessions and record serial numbers. REMEMBER we are all open to be abused in some way and it is up to us all to take steps to prevent it.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
