What happened to Maree?
How a north Auckland woman disappeared from a specialist dementia care rest home is under investigation.
Maree Wilkins, 85, was last seen around 5.30pm on November 7 at her Leigh Road Cottage residential care centre home.
She was reported missing at 8.20am the following morning.
Police and concerned residents scoured the surrounding Whangateau bush and coastal areas, but no one found a trace of Wilkins.
The search has now been suspended.
Ministry of Health HealthCert manager Emma Prestidge said Agape Care Warkworth Limited, owned by joint shareholders Tan-li and Peter Kwong Yew Chiew, which runs Leigh Road Cottage, would be conducting an internal investigation.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
