Coastal Flooding presentation to TCDC
The Leader of Regional Council’s Hazards Team gave a presentation on coastal flooding to TCDC recently. This will have been a big wake up call for those who choose to believe that sea level rise is something to worry about in 100 years’ time. A series of photos were displayed which showed present day flooding from storm surges and rising groundwater, and it was explained how these extreme “king tide” events will soon become much more frequent.
