Come and sing!

Pam from Blenheim

The Thursday Zingers! is a welcoming group of 20 non-auditioned singers from all backgrounds and levels of musical experience. We meet on Thursday evenings and invite you to join us for this term’s festive programme, starting this Thursday, 19 October. Come and have fun singing old favourite carols and learning a few new ones! They are taught by ear with the emphasis on fun rather than perfection but we do often surprise ourselves with how beautiful we sound! Come and explore well-known carols and some more unusual ones from around the world and different eras. For more information, please ring or txt Pam on 021 046 4841 – or leave a message and she’ll ring you back.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
