Summit Road closure, feedback extension CCC
Council consultation on "Summit Road Proposed prohibited times on road restrictions" has been extended by three weeks, to Friday 25 August. See the CCC link below for more information. Traffic noise and safety have always been major concerns for local residents and this looks like action on it, providing police powers of Summit Road temporary closure to recreational motoring. Feedback comments are invited here too, for guiding Cashmere Residents’ Association's response to this plan. Kia ora taatou.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
