Bosco is home!
He's home!!! I received a phone call at lunch time today from the Redwood Vet Clinic to say Bosco had been brought in. Thankfully a lovely lady called Claire had been looking after him for the past week and took him into her local vet, yes in Redwood, over 10km from our house! Bosco is microchipped so once they scanned him they were able to ring me and give me the good news. We think Bosco hitched a ride from Wigram to Redwood (a 15-20 minute car ride away!) He has been known to get into just about anything so this doesn't surprise us! Marty was able to go and pick him up this afternoon - unfortunately I'm in Kaikoura for the week working! While Bosco was missing we had plenty of ups and downs. The hardest bit was not having any idea if he was okay, but what really helped was the support from not only our friends and neighbours, but from complete strangers. So from the bottom of our hearts we thank you! Thank you for those comments "oh he will be okay you will get him back". Thank you to our neighbours and their children who have been out searching. Thank you to the random people out walking in our neighbourhood who took a flyer I handed them. Thank you to complete strangers who shared Facebook posts or sent us a nice message. And thank you to Claire who took care of Bosco! I have yet to get in touch with her but are hoping to meet up with her at some point to thank her in person.

Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑
Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.
We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
