Take Time Out - Friendship, fun and support for carers

Diana from Havelock North

Do you care for a parent, spouse, child, sibling, friend or neighbour who, because of frailty or mental, physical or intellectual disability, cannot manage everyday living without your help or support?

The Heretaunga Women's Centre is offering this new group service and would greatly appreciate your help.

Come and join us for the first of our meetups created to provide an uplifting, supportive and nurturing group. A time for YOU to kick back, enjoy the company of new friends and enjoy feeling relaxed and cared for. Help us by sharing what you would like to learn or enjoy. Help us make this group exactly what you want.

This first meetup is completely free and includes complimentary morning tea.

Over the coming months, the wonderful team at Heretaunga Women's Centre would like to share with you a range of holistic approaches to wellbeing including relaxation techniques, creating foods for instant energy, aromatherapy, hand massage and many other simple but effective ways to support yourself.

This event has been created to provide an understanding, non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment in which carers can make friends share their concerns, acknowledgements, challenges and frustrations.

As this is a daytime meeting so it's for women only at this venue. We're busy securing other venues so all you lovely men caring for loved ones can join the fun soon.

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
