Raranga (Maori Arts Weaving)

Freda from Aranui

Kia ora,

I am very interested in learning Raranga, does anyone know of anywhere that is offering parttime classes?? I would like to by the end of my journey I will be able to make a Korowai for my girl when she finishes school, she has many many years ahead of her, so I thought that if I start to learn now I should be finished and have a Korowai for her to wear in 10 - 12 years thats including Uni....lol (oh yeah I dream big, I know my girl can do it) and if she doesn't and picks another path! that;s ok, the korowai can be used for another occasion, maybe her wedding or the birth of her first child, who knows its about getting out there and doing something else besides working fulltime and using that as a crutch not be able to do something else!!
