DOC is encouraging travellers to practise the Outdoors Care Code when preparing for trips.
This includes planning and sharing plans, being aware of weather conditions, knowing your limits and taking sufficient supplies.

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
