Public meeting on RNZ funding
Where: Salvation Army hall, 160 Crawford Street, Dunedin
When: 6:30pm
There will be a public meeting, with an excellent panel of speakers, to discuss Radio New Zealand’s eight year funding freeze. RNZ is under huge financial strain and this has implications both for the organisation and for the public of New Zealand. This meeting will also double up as a campaign launch.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
