Earthquake aftermath like 'armageddon'
People in Kaikoura are describing the aftermath of Monday's 7.5 magnitude earthquake as "armageddon".
Our Kaikoura Star reporter Emma Dangerfield said the town felt isolated, though she knew pictures of the area were being beamed across the world.
"There are so many helicopters going over all the time, it's a bit like armageddon really. There's thousands of people camping in places you wouldn't normally see them, and then the rest of it is like a ghost town. The shops are closed, and things are cordoned off.
