The wonderful truth about Wesleyhaven

Wesleyhaven Village

From one of our Villa residents who stayed in Strand Home for a period of convalescence

After returning from the hospital "my things were still in the room I had been allocated for convalescence care... and I settled in very gratefully. My room had a large TV, a bookcase with books, a bed of course, two dressers, a lift chair and an en suite. Well situated in the home so that I didn’t have to walk far to get to the lounge and dining room.
The care and friendliness from the staff was brilliant. Their willingness to assist when help was needed was there and didn’t deteriorate even after two weeks of putting up with me. They didn’t complain when I asked for a cup of coffee at 5a.m. or when I requested a shower at 6 a.m. Awkward times I know, but I am an early riser.
Meals were really tasty – Paula is such a good cook!! Continental breakfast, choice of meats for midday dinner and something different every night for tea. Morning tea about 10.30 a.m. – usually a muffin or scone (Yum). Afternoon tea with a cake or biscuit and supper with a sandwich.
I found it was quiet at night and one could get a good night’s sleep, no one was pushy but they were there if needed. I was always treated with the greatest respect and everyone was kind. So, here is the ... truth about Wesleyhaven … IT’S A CREDIT TO ALL CONCERNED. WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE UP PERMANENT RESIDENCE THERE (AND IT WILL COME) I WON’T HESITATE TO MOVE FROM MY PRESENT HOME AND THAT’LL BE WITHOUT A BACKWARD GLANCE!!!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
