It's election time

Jay Boreham Reporter from Rodney Times

At 2pm we'll find out the preliminary results on who the mayor, councillors and local board members will be in the super-city for the next three years.
We'll see if Phil Goff really is favourite for mayor and if there's any changes from the current line up of councillors and board members in Rodney and the Hibiscus Coast, which sits in the Albany Ward.
In Rodney current councillor Penny Webster's biggest challenge is from Greg Sayers, with Stephen Garner and Holly Southernwood also having a crack.
In the Albany Ward we have John Watson and Wayne Walker. Will they be unseated by the likes of Lisa Whyte or Graeme Lowe?
I guess we'll find out soon.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
