Located on SH11 between Kawakawa and Paihia, we are a Regenerative Farm that uses Holistic Management. At the moment our herd is mainly Angus with some Hereford cows. We are a Cow - Calf operation with our calves remaining with their mums until they are 9-10 months old. We do not use any chemicals on the land. In using Regenerative Farming methods we have noticed definite improvement in drainage post floods, resilience in drought, improved animal health, Improved soil health, increase in worm population and increasing depth of topsoil.
We have a small single room Tiny Home that we rent out with Air B&B, called (appropriately) "Wai Māhanga Farm's Tiny Home" and we also have a spare room in the Main House (The Farmhouse room) with us for others who are interested in knowing more about regenerative farming and Holistic Management. The difference it makes to the land and the difference in the meat.
