The Living Museum, welcoming local and tourists to Te Aroha to experience a plethora of exhibits of The British Royal Family from 1837 to current, the 4 major New Zealand Exhibitions held during 1906 to 1940 in Christchurch, Auckland, Dunedin and Wellington; our local Te Aroha memorabilia; the family W.A.Thompson pram company established 1893 with prams, wheel chairs and commodes, and the personal collection belonging to owners Angela and Bill Thompson. Your chance to view and enter the 'oldest' caravan in NZ (on record). The English Showmans Gypsy Caravan made by the 'Angela Company' in 1928. The first of the towable caravans which would have been pulled by either a steam traction engine, or steam truck. Original and amazing. Bookings essential with groups up to 16 preferred .Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and hear the many stories involved in creating and sharing this amazing opportunity for you to explore and enjoy the restored 1910 Villa.
