The Apple Pickers’ Cottages accommodation in Mapua were built for apple pickers in the 1950s. They have been carefully renovated, retaining their simplicity and authentic charm while adding contemporary comfort. These days the apple orchard has been transformed into a haven of organic fruit trees, vegetable gardens and regenerating native coastal forest overlooking the Matahua Saltmarsh. It's a great place to relax into the rhythm of the tides, the wildlife, the weather, yet still be only 5 minutes drive from cafés and restaurants in the coastal village of Mapua.
