Sports Clubs
Thames Pony Club is based on State Highway 25, just south of Thames township at the foot of the Coromandel Peninsula.
We cater for all levels of pony club riders, from lead rein to those on first ponies, experience riders and competitors. The club also has adult members.
We also have a limited number of paddocks available for grazing horses and ponies. Our grounds feature a large sand arena, equipped with showjumping jumps, and a large paddock with cross country jumps.
We also have a gravel parking area and two sets of yards, complete with concrete wash pad. Our grounds also include club rooms, a full kitchen and modern toilet.
Club activities include pony club rallies, dressage and showjumping days, derby days and mounted games. We also have access to camping and trekking up the Kauaeranga Valley, with rides over rolling farmland and on hot days, swimming our horses and ponies in the Kauaeranga River.
We welcome inquiries about our club and also welcome new members of all ages.
