Maestro Music

Welcome to Maestro Music.
My name is Sonja Whitehouse, owner and teacher at Maestro Music Studio. As long as I can remember I loved music and singing, and I started private piano lessons at the tender age of 4. Music has always been part of my life, and I was so passionate about it that I completed a bachelor’s degree in music. I have done extensive work as a vocal coach for various choirs in South Africa, as well as doing private teaching for a number of years now. I am privileged to make a career out of teaching music and I love to share this passion with my students.
I believe that every student is born with musical potential and that the right guidance can help you unlock it. You do not have to be a child prodigy to become a proficient musician, you simply need determination and the right practise technique. I would like to not only equip you with successful practise strategies but also enable you to develop the ability to use your own reason and judgement to evaluate your progress and performance.
I aim to provide lessons for everyday people. I believe music can enrich our lives, whatever your profession or level of ability. At my studio I will endeavour to provide you with the highest quality of music education that will allow you to discover your passion, to work with intrinsic energy, and to achieve. I offer Singing, Piano and Theory lessons, and fees are $25 per half hour or $50 per hour.

I look forward to helping you explore your musical potential.
