Graphic Designers
Kate Hursthouse is a New Zealand artist and designer specialising in calligraphy, lettering, illustration and typography. Kate’s typographic works take on a number of forms from contemporary calligraphic artworks, commercial illustrations and custom wordmarks to large scale hand-painted murals. Her commercial clients include Lululemon, One Percent Collective, Laneway Festival, TEDxAuckland, Hallertau Brewery, Panasonic, Creative Mornings and Auckland City Council.
In addition to commercial work Kate has exhibited in a number of gallery shows including her debut solo show in October 2015 and her first international exhibition in Germany in March 2016.
Kate also hosts hand-lettering and calligraphy workshops, including two Type by Hand workshops with the Australian Type Foundry’s Wayne Thompson, and is a committee member of the New Zealand Calligraphers. In her spare time she is illustrating her first children’s book.
