Experience across the plastics manufacturing, automotive, engineering and wine industries has equipped us well in understanding a lot about the products we are asked to repair, and what is required to ensure a quality outcome.
Plastic welding is the process of bonding or fusing plastic together by applying hot air and introducing “like” material into the weld area.
We use both a small hand held unit and a larger extrusion welder(think of this as a MIG welder for plastic).
The critical factors to ensure a successful weld include: surface preparation, correct plastic identification and heat temperature.
