Hospices
Hospice Mid-Northland provides community-based specialist palliative care to patients living in the mid north, from Taupo Bay in the north to Hukeruni in the south and coast to coast including south Hokianga.
Anyone with a life limiting condition (not only cancer) can access support - there is no charge for our service, which includes;
- Specialist nursing assessment, care and support
- 24 hour phone access for advice
- Access to advice from a Palliative Medicine Specialist
- Free medical loan equipment
- Liaison with GP's and other health care professionals
- Advice, support and education for carers.
- Volunteer support
- Grief, loss and bereavement counselling and support for family/whanau
- Special Time - complimentary therapy for patients and caregivers
