Auckland Kindergarten Association

The Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is a charitable trust that has been providing community-based, early childhood education since 1908. We offer 107 local kindergartens across Auckland, as well as KiNZ childcare centres and Playgroups.

The AKA is New Zealand's largest kindergarten association with over 10,000 children going to one of our 107 public kindergartens throughout Auckland every week.

At all the Kindys we employ only fully qualified teachers, who have an early childhood teaching diploma as a minimum qualification and hold a current Teacher Registration Practising Certificate.

Our Kindys reflect the diversity of New Zealand society, and are open to all children and their families. Cultural diversity is celebrated for its ability to enhance and enrich the learning environment.

Kindergarten hours vary by centre, visit www.aka.org.nz and click find a centre button and search for your local kindy.
