Silverdale Playcentre reopened in 2018 as a full immersion Māori language Playcentre: Te Puna Reo Māori O Whānau Ngātahi, Ki Te Weiti. We are pleased to be working with Kereama Nathan and Te Herenga Waka o Orewa Marae. We are currently taking enrolments for families with children aged 0-6 years to join us on Mondays 9:15am-11:45pm - come learn and grow in Te Reo Māori for both beginners and speakers. ‘E tūtaki ana ngā kapua o te rangi, kei rung ate Mangōroa e kōpae pū ana’. The clouds in the sky gather, but above them extends the Milky Way’. Playcentre offers families the chance to play, grow and learn together, as well as forge meaningful friendships with other families in the community. A focus on child-led learning means that each day Playcentre offer a variety of learning and play experiences such as building, baking, painting, dressing up, singing and sand and water play. Parents are the first educators of children, and Playcentre fosters the involvement of whānau through early childhood education. As a family, and as a community, you’ll build your own village with Playcentre: making life-long friends along the way. Te Puna Reo Silverdale offers three free visits, so come along for a visit and see what we’re all about! We would love to meet you and your whānau!
