AIMS
Musica Viva is a club for people who enjoy live performances of music and whose preference is for music of enduring quality.
ORIGINS
The origins of the Society (Club) date back to the 1920’s with the foundation of the Palmerston North Ladies Music Club. In 1982 this amalgamated with the Dorian Society and the resultant organisation was named Musica Viva. This Incorporated Society 217836 is a non profit organisation.
MEMBERSHIP
There are two categories of ordinary members: performing and non-performing, though the subscription is the same. Generally a musician becomes a performing member by recommendation from a fellow musician or committee member. The status of “performing member” is confirmed by the committee following an initial performance.
