Good Neighbour has become a household name in the last few years and for good reason. They are the food rescue champions, the community garden warriors, the neighbourhood project all-stars, the volunteer army. But it’s their philosophy that really sets them apart. Their aim is to teach people to fish. Not literally of course... (although maybe one day!). They teach communities to grow vegetables, help students gain real life experience in commercial kitchens, encourage sustainable living and much more. Their volunteers do ‘neighbourly’ things like help people sort out their garages, clear overgrown sections and chop firewood. They inspire, support and encourage people to recognise the needs of those around them. “How?” we asked. “Just look around” they said.
