In the event of an emergency please contact 111
Please be aware that many of our stations are crewed by volunteers so there may not be anyone available to take your call. If this is the case, please leave a message and someone will call you back.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a large organisation spread geographically throughout NZ, comprising of five different regions with around 450 stations and approximately 8,300 Volunteer Firefighters and 1,699 Career Firefighters spread throughout the country.
The nature of the emergencies we attend are as varied as the people who call for us. Our communities rely on our people being professionally prepared and capable to respond whenever they are called upon.
In the past year there were around 63,000 incidents attended by the fire service, but there's more to us than responding to emergencies; firefighters spend time helping our communities prevent unwanted fires through delivering education programmes, working with building owners and other community focused work.
