Campbell Barry - Hutt City Councillor for Wainuiomata Ward

Campbell is a born and bred resident of Wainuiomata and in his first term serving on the Hutt City Council. He previously served as a member on the Wainuiomata Community Board from 2010-2013.

Campbell is the youngest ever person to be elected to the Hutt City Council at age 22. He is currently in the final stages of completing his LLB at Victoria University.

He also serves on the Hutt Valley Youth Health Service Board (Vibe) as a trustee and is apart of the governance team for Youth Inspire (Mayor’s taskforce for jobs in Wainuiomata).

A key focus for Campbell this tri-annum is the development of Wainuiomata’s town centre/Queen Street area. He would like to make the area more vibrant to attract new businesses and ultimately get visitors and locals utilising the area.

Campbell is also an active cricket umpire and rugby referee, and in his spare time enjoys travelling, playing sport and relaxing with his family and friends.
