Do you support lowering the speed limit on SH2 between between Remutaka Hill and Silverstream?
Upper Hutt City councillor Angela McLeod says an immediate 80kmh restriction until the road can be made safe.
“It’s dangerous and the reason it’s dangerous is because it was never designed to be a state highway,” McLeod said. “It was always going to be an arterial route, a bypass for Upper Hutt, and so over the years things have changed as the traffic numbers have increased and it’s become more dangerous.”
In January it was reported there had been 48 deaths between River Road and Kaitoke, north of Upper Hutt, since 1987.

Remember now that we are in Alert Level 2, the rules have changed a bit.
Here’s what you need to know:
◼️ Face coverings are legally required for everyone 12 years and older.
◼️ Standing isn't allowed on services. Staff won't allow people onto services if they don't believe space is available, so plan ahead and be patient with operators.
◼️ Check in as soon as you board the service.
◼️ Stay home if you're sick. Sitting directly next to someone is allowed. Be mindful that drivers may not stop to collect passengers if all seats are occupied. Dedicated school bus services are exempt from the no standing requirement.

Our Covid 19 Response

Michael from Trentham

One Govt MP has a bet of a case of wine that 90% of New Zealanders who qualify will be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 and its variants by Xmas.

I think he will win. And this will put us at number one in the world for percentage of population vaccinated.

Then in early in the new year, a second and maybe third booster vaccinations will be programmed.

Internal and international Covid vaccination "passports" will be available for everyone who have been properly vaccinated and they will be required for entry to many places and events.

The age 12 and over is only temporary until a safe vaccine is pronounced for children aged 6 months to 11 years.

There is some of this happening overseas already and the New York Central Park concert of a few days ago had all 60,000 fans having provided proof they had been Covid jabbed watching a host of celebrated artists who also have been Covid jabbed.

The Breeze radio station morning show are creating a song about Wallaceville and want people to send in suggestions of things that are famous, infamous (I suppose), interesting, unique, or just plain and simple about Wallaceville.
Have you got something that might suit?
Don't mix in what actually lies in Trentham or the rest of Upper Hutt.

The new Wallaceville Railway Station is a feature and with an increasing importance, fish and chips etc takeaway shop Scoops is back alive and kicking after a year burnt and gutted, Quinn's Post has a history and an association with the Trentham Racecourse going back to the heyday of NZ horse racing.
Are there any very notable/prominent people who lived or live in Wallaceville?
