Teenager completes 24-hour mountain challenge to raise $6000 for LandSAR
In 24 hours Ben McDrury scaled Mt Thomas eight times, notching up 60 kilometres and earning a large sum of money for a search and rescue organisation.
The 19-year-old carpentry apprentice from Loburn repeatedly hiked the North Canterbury trail from 6am on Saturday, completing 5700 metres of climbing the arduous route to secure almost $6000 via a Givealittle page for LandSAR Oxford.
Well done Ben!

Stollen Rooftop camper
Our lovely Dutch guests had a rooftop camper stolen off the top of their vehicle last night (Friday).
The car was parked on the corner of South Eyre/Browns Road with a for sale sign on. The awful person/people must have had tools available to unscrew and it was heavy.
Please contact me if you saw anything.
