Upcoming play at Cue Theatre, Inglewood - “The Importance of Being Earnest”
OSCAR WILDE’S BELOVED MASTERPIECE, AND IT’S MORE OUTRAGEOUS THAN IT’S EVER BEEN BEFORE
Directed by Warren Bates, Wilde’s exquisitely scandalous satire on Victorian manners is widely considered one of the funniest plays in the English language – the delightful repartee and hilarious piercing of hypocrisy and pomposity has had theatre-goers rolling the aisles for over a century. And it’s Playing at the Cue Theatre, 25 July – 3 August 2019
Two young bachelors, Algernon Moncrieff (Sonny Deacle) and John Worthing J.P., (Martin Quicke) lead double lives to court the attentions of the exquisitely desirable Gwendolen Fairfax (Loren Armstrong) and Cecily Cardew (Michelle Rawlinson). The gallants must then grapple with the riotous consequences of their deceptions … and with the formidable Lady Bracknell (Selina Mackie). Happening simultaneously is the attraction between Governess, Miss Prism (Sharren Read) and the Rev. Canon Chasuble (Steve Hobson). All these happenings have been inconspicuously observed by the Butler/Manservant (Laurie Neville).
THIS IS ONE PLAY, NOT TO BE MISSED

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
