Misleading marketing? BEWARE!
I've been looking up school sites to establish their closing dates. One of the top Google options in each case has been a site that offers on-line learning, including using the School's name in both the headings and the text. "Teachers" are even mentioned. The wording strongly implies that this is associated with the school I was searching. IT IS NOT! In our business we see a lot of students experiencing difficulties at school, and simply not achieving at the level they are capable of. In many cases one of the root causes is the over reliance on computers; programs that kids are simply "plugged into". Computer have a place in education, no doubt, but our experience and belief is that on-line learning is not even close to being as effective as face-to-face with a teacher.
