Are going to watch the jet boat races at Balclutha on Friday?

As usual there's a whole lot happening in South Otago, including the inaugural Kaitangata Art Exhibition which opens 2pm Saturday.
Read also about the Lawrence to Waihola cycle trail - it's got Minister Shane Jones' support.
See also on Stuff about Kelso, and its ongoing flooding issues, from the Pomahaka River. Despite what happens to it on a regular basis, it is the town that refuses to drown:

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
