Message from President Clive Couldwell - Remuera Lions Club

The Team from Remuera Lions Club

A Message from President Clive Couldwell about last night's Remuera Lions Junior Citizenship awards.
As I returned home from this event 30 or so minutes ago., I thought. . . . WHAT A FANTASTIC EVENING!!
The hall was packed with lots of happy people.
The Dilworth Junior Campus Kapa Haka Group were very enthusiastic with their Powhiri and Waiata.
And our guest speaker, Brendan Dooley. SOMETHING AGAIN!!
In his short life he had to handle some adversity but had risen above it all and made a very successful career in magic – not only in New Zealand but in Australia, Asia and the USA, and he will perform this year in our annual Magic Show just before Christmas.
I can’t fully describe the tricks he showed but, in magic, everything is possible – even the impossible.
Brendan's message was very positive!
Lots of thanks to everyone involved.
Most importantly to the parents for raising such amazing children.
We also would like to thank Peter Vos, Principal of Dilworth Junior School and Huhana Rowland, for organising everything at the School for this event.
Thank you too, to all the School Principals who nominated these Amazing Children! Well done!
Remuera Lions can be justly proud of what we achieved this evening

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
