Millennials and Gen Z’s struggling to smile

Ripu Bhatia Reporter from Central Leader

Research shows 44 per cent of Kiwis feel uncomfortable showing off their smile because of their teeth.

Lumino the Dentists found Millennials and Gen Z were worse than other groups, and are advising caution over aesthetic dental treatments advertised to them on social media.

“Kiwis need to ensure they're correcting any existing issues before embarking on any cosmetic treatments - especially ones being advertised to them on Instagram or Tik Tok, as some of these treatments may not be right for them,” a spokesman said.

“Did you know that you should actually have a full hygiene clean before undergoing any whitening treatments? You may also be causing more harm than good using whitening products without a dentist consultation.”

The research found women were more likely to feel uncomfortable smiling than men.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
