During March, we raise funds to enable us to deliver services to the most vulnerable people in our communities. Services such as delivering Meals on Wheels, helping to settle new Kiwi's in Aotearoa New Zealand and training our Disaster Response volunteers to support with rescue and recovery during a disaster.... and more
This year we are doing our appeal a bit differently and we need your help! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the Red Traffic Light settings we can’t go ahead with our physical street collection so instead, we are partnering with www.Chooza.com... to bring you our "List, Sell, Give Hope!" campaign.
It’s easy! You list it, someone else buys it and together you give hope by supporting New Zealand Red Cross. With your help, we can continue to support those most vulnerable in our communities when they need it most!
So, this weekend why not find some items lying around home that you have been meaning to rehome or donate to charity and add them to Chooza. New or pre-loved, if it is worth $14.99 or more you can find a new home for it and support New Zealand Red Cross at the same time.
With every item listed you will get a donation receipt for the sale price that you can claim back as a taxable donation, so it is a win-win-win situation.
Check out www.chooza.com... to find out more!

New Zealand Red Cross are looking for a day leader and a coordinator to help lead our Meals on Wheels service in Tauranga on Thursdays or Fridays.
So, what is Meals on Wheels?
The primary purpose of Meals on Wheels is to support the elderly, the ill, and people with a disability, living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves. The secondary function of the service is to provide regular social contact for people receiving the meals - many of whom are isolated.
Tauranga Meals on Wheels Coordinator
This leadership role is all about ensuring the New Zealand Red Cross Meals on Wheels service in Tauranga runs smoothly. The Coordinator oversees a great team of volunteer drivers and Day Leaders who organise the rostering. The number of hours will vary but if you can spare between two to four hours a week to serve the Tauranga community, we would love to hear from you.
Tauranga Meals on Wheels Day Leader
The Meals on Wheels Day Leaders reports to the MOW Coordinator. They are responsible for rostering our drivers from our volunteer pool, checking in with volunteers by phone, liaising with the Coordinator and doing a Meals on Wheels run when needed. This role has variety and flexibility - volunteer largely from home with the opportunity to have an active role on the ground when needed.
If you enjoy volunteering and are looking for a way to support your local community in 2022 join our New Zealand Red Cross Meals on Wheels team.
